I'm a qualified coach, mentor and adult educator who is passionate about creating spaces where people can pause and reflect. I see coaching as a learning process: each session is an opportunity to build self-knowledge and awareness, challenge unhelpful assumptions about yourself and develop new ways of thinking and being.
My practice is founded on the belief that you have the inner resources to overcome difficulties and navigate change; my role is to create space for you to tap into these and support you to make sense of your experiences and determine how to move forward. Humour, shared humanity and creativity have an important place in my practice; in my experience, they help people feel at ease and stay curious, even when the work is challenging.
I love learning about people — what drives them, what holds them back, and what becomes possible when they give themselves permission to take time to explore what matters.
I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and abide by their Global Code of Ethics.
My work is grounded in over 20 years' experience in adult education across the charitable sector, international education, and further and higher education. I began my career at an international college in New Zealand, working with students aged 18 to 80 from around the world. It was there that I developed a lasting interest in the relationship between learning, belonging and personal growth.
Since then, I've held a range of teaching, coaching, mentoring and leadership roles, supporting individuals, groups and teams through successes, challenges and change. I continue to work in higher education where I support students one-to-one and facilitate group coaching, alongside running my private coaching practice.
'I can't recommend Sarah highly enough. She is an incredible coach who leads with empathy and provides the kind of support that actually shifts your perspective. Sarah has a natural gift for creating a safe space and a welcoming environment, which made it easy for me to open up and explore my goals. She gave me the confidence to finally be brave in my decisions.'
'Sarah's approach helped me to find confidence when I doubted my abilities and enabled me to cut through the imposter syndrome I felt in my job role.'
'Sarah was wonderful and I gained a lot from our sessions. Her calming tone, and empathy in everything we spoke about was crucial in me opening up and making sure I was talking about things I actually needed to talk about.'
'I felt genuinely listened to throughout our sessions, and it was clear that Sarah truly cared about my goals. Her thoughtful and supportive approach helped me feel comfortable enough to dive deeper into my thoughts and reflect in a way I hadn’t before. One of the most impactful parts of our work together was establishing my values. This process was both enjoyable and eye-opening, and it has become something I regularly refer back to. The clarity it provided has allowed me to stay aligned with what matters most to me, guiding my decisions and actions, which in turn has given me a more positive mindset, which has been instrumental in managing and clearly seeing my goals with greater confidence.'
'Hearing my words reflected back has been extremely interesting and thought-provoking. The flexibility of the sessions and the supportive environment have been great for me, allowing me to feel safe and be open and honest. The use of tools for framing and gaining more insights has also been very helpful and really interesting.'
'You’ve created a really positive and inspiring space for me to explore my goals and aspirations. Your guidance feels very intentional and focused, and I appreciate how you have tailored it to my goals as an artist.'
